Science is the light that brightens the world. Although modern times are said to be the age of science, I wish ghosts, monsters, and creatures from ghost stories could exist. Inspired by the double-slit experiment and the second law of thermodynamics, which states that entropy always increases, I imagined that Ghost might behave in the form of a wave. Because they do not exist as particles, it is difficult for us to perceive them, but in special cases we can vaguely feel the waves they create. And when we tell a ghost story, the information creates a meaningful pattern, entropy decreases, and we summon a ghost equal to that energy from the pattern.

But two problems arise with this imagination. First, ‘if you talk about ghosts, ghosts come to listen.’ Then, even ten bodies would be insufficient for a ghost. Especially in the summer, when it's horror movie season, vacations can be difficult to dream of. The work <Bikini Ghost> depicts ghosts who always look similar - sad, covered in white cloth - and enjoy the summer wearing colorful clothes. Wax, the basic material of the work, expresses the childlike imagination that the ghosts' freedom begins after the candle, which appears as a cliché in the scene of summoning a ghost, melts.

Second, what should we do with Ghosts that were popular for a short time but then were forgotten? If they are no longer talked about, will they disappear like extinct animals? My works are an effort to bring back those who have been forgotten. I bring back to this place the mysterious beings that were once popular but are not often talked about now through drawings and sculptures. My sculptures show peculiar-looking furniture or objects through the ‘Ghost-Furniture’ series. In this Series, furniture and objects are altered with hands, feet, and tentacles. This work is an attempt to create mutations by connecting disused furniture with strange, forgotten entities such as ghosts, monsters, and creepy pasta. This series began with the question: Will these beings that are no longer talked about, forgotten, or exhausted disappear like extinct animals? I believe that these beings permeate abandoned furniture or objects, similar to the belief that spirits reside in old furniture. Although the transformed objects is no longer practical, ghosts and abandoned furniture become artwork, like mutants that adapt to the world.
